Publisher and Editor-in-Chief Nathan M. Bisk, J.D., CPA. (FL), is both an attorney and a CPA in the State of Florida. He is a graduate of Franklin and Marshall College and the University of Florida College of Law. He is a member of the Florida Institute of CPAs, AICPA, Association of Gov't. Accountants, American Association of Attorney-CPAs, Florida Bar, and American Bar Association. His background includes public accounting experience at both Ernst & Young and Arthur Andersen & Co. He is a graduate of the 2-year JET program of Merrill Lynch, Pierce, Fenner & Smith, Inc. Mr. Bisk has written and taught CPA Review, accounting, auditing, taxation, and business law programs since 1970. He has been a pioneer in the development, writing, and production of audio, video, and software Continuing Education programs for accountants and attorneys.

Contributing Editor Robert L. Monette, J.D., CPA (PA), is a specialist in continuing professional education and nationally recognized as an expert on the CPA exam. He is an entrepreneur with extensive experience in business acquisitions. His background includes experience in statistical sampling, EDP auditing, financial statement analysis and taxation. Mr. Monette has also taught CPA Review in Boston, New York, and New Jersey, where he has helped tens of thousands of candidates become CPAs. He is one of the expert instructors on Bisk Education’s CPA Review video series and has appeared as an expert commentator in several Bisk Education CPE programs. Mr. Monette earned an undergraduate degree from Bentley College and a law degree from Villanova University.
Contributing Editor Paul Munter, PhD, CPA (CO), is a Partner in the New York office of KPMG, LLP. Before joining KPMG, Dr. Munter served as a professor and chairman of the Department of Accounting at the University of Miami. He also served as a Professor of Accounting at Texas Tech University for 11 years. Dr. Munter also served as the Academic Fellow in the Office of the Chief Accountant at the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission from 2002–2003 where he worked on many of the Commission’s Sarbanes-Oxley initiatives and rule-making activities. He has extensively published articles on financial accounting and auditing matters in journals such as the Journal of Accountancy, CPA Journal, Management Accounting, Accounting Review, Today’s CPA, and Practical Accountant. Dr. Munter is a member of the IMA’s national teaching faculty and was honored by the Texas Society of CPAs as its first Outstanding Discussion Leader. In addition, he was selected as the Outstanding Educator of the Year by the FICPA. Dr. Munter also teaches CPE courses for accountants in public accounting and industry.
Consulting Editor Mortimer M. Caplin, LL.B., J.S.D., LL.D., is a Senior Partner with the Washington D.C. law firm of Caplin and Drysdale. He served as Commissioner of the Internal Revenue Service and as a member of the President’s Task Force on Taxation. He received the Alexander Hamilton Award (the highest award conferred by the Secretary of the Treasury) for outstanding and unusual leadership during service as a U.S. Commissioner of Internal Revenue. For more than 25 years, Mr. Caplin has been in private practice with his present law firm, and has served as adjunct professor for the University of Virginia Law School. He is a nationally acclaimed author of numerous articles on tax and corporate matters.
Consulting Editor Richard M. Feldheim, M.B.A., J.D., LL.M., C.P.A. (NY), is a New York CPA as well as an attorney in New York and Arizona. He holds a Masters in Tax Law from New York University Law School. Mr. Feldheim is a member of the New York State Society of CPAs, AICPA, New York State Bar Association, Association of the Bar of the City of New York, Arizona Bar, and American Bar Association. His background includes practice as both a CPA with Price Waterhouse & Co. and as a Senior Partner with the Arizona law firm of Wentworth & Lundin. He has lectured for the AICPA, the Practising Law Institute, Seton Hall University, and the University of Arizona.
Consulting Editor William J. Meurer, CPA (FL), is former Managing Partner for both the overall operations in Central Florida and the Florida Audit and Business Advisory Services sector of Arthur Andersen LLP. During his 35-year career with the firm, Mr. Meurer developed expertise in several industries, including high technology, financial services, real estate, retailing/distribution, manufacturing, hospitality, professional services, and cable television. A graduate of Regis University, he is a member of both the American Institute of CPAs and the Florida Institute of CPAs.
Consulting Editor Thomas A. Ratcliffe, PhD, CPA is a national-scope accounting and auditing thought leader, writer, and advisor helping CPAs throughout the country understand and appropriately implement the accounting and attest engagement authoritative technical literature. Tom served as a member of the Auditing Standards Board [ASB], the AICPA senior technical committee responsible for developing auditing, attestation, and quality control standards, during the development of the clarified and converged auditing and quality control standards. During his tenure with the ASB, Tom also served as a member of the Audit Issues Task Force [AITF]. Prior to joining the ASB, Tom served as Chair and as a member of the AICPA Accounting and Review Services Committee [ARSC], and he served on the AICPA Council. He also is the primary contributing author to the AICPA Guide for Compilation and Review Engagements. He served as a founding member of the Private Company Financial Reporting Committee [PCFRC]. In addition to many other service roles, Tom still serves as a member of the Auditing Panel for The Journal of Accountancy. Tom serves as the accounting and auditing technical advisor to six different associations of CPA firms. He authors the Bisk Education monthly Accounting and Auditing Report, the widely-used monthly update of accounting and auditing issues that is distributed nationally to CPAs in public practice and industry. Also, Tom is a regularly-featured speaker through web-based programs, including those offered through his Plain-English Accounting membership program. Tom earned his Ph.D. at The University of Alabama. He has published more than 100 technical works in accounting and auditing, including several books and other documents that are widely-utilized in practice. In 2004, based on both the quality and the quantity of his publications, Tom was recognized as one of the most prolific authors in the accounting profession. Tom has received numerous research and teaching awards throughout his career, including the Alabama Society of CPAs Outstanding Professional Educator award. After winning that award for seven consecutive years, the Alabama Society of CPAs renamed the award in his honor, and he no longer is eligible to receive the award. In addition to his advisory and technical consulting roles with the various associations for firms, Tom serves as senior accounting and auditing technical advisor for Warren Averett, LLC, and he is Director Emeritus of the School of Accountancy at Troy University. The combination of his experiences as a practitioner and as an educator enables him to explain complex practical issues in a manner that is easily understood by fellow practitioners.
Consulting Editor C. William Thomas, M.B.A., Ph.D., C.P.A. (TX), currently serves as J.E. Bush Professor and former Chair of the Department of Accounting and Business Law at Baylor University. He is a member of the AICPA, the Texas Society of CPAs, the Central Texas Chapter of CPAs, and the American Accounting Association, where he is past Chair for the Southwestern Regional Audit Section. Professor Thomas is a nationally known author and has extensive experience in Auditing CPA Review. In addition, he has received recognition for special audit education and curriculum projects he developed for Coopers & Lybrand. His background includes public accounting experience with KPMG.
