Bisk CPA Review Student Earns Perfect Score on Exam!
TAMPA, FL – John McInnis, a graduate of the University of Texas at Austin which uses Bisk CPA Review, earned a perfect score on the May 2002 CPA Exam.
“I have a very high opinion of Bisk CPA Review, as it was critical to my success on the exam,” McInnis said.
McInnis, who says he doesn’t believe in cramming, took UT’s semester-long CPA prep course – which utilizes Bisk CPA Review study materials – before graduating last May, “and I just kept up with the review material.” In fact, for two weeks before the exam, McInnis said he spent most of his time watching TV and playing golf. “I probably cracked the books three hours in the weeks leading up to the exam. I was already prepared.”
McInnis, who is now an auditor in Ernst & Young’s Houston office, scored four grades of 99 – the highest score possible – in the two-day, four-part CPA licensing examination, according to the Texas Board of Public Accountancy, the state agency that administers the test. As reward for achieving the highest score in the nation, McInnis received the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants Gold Medal.
“Approximately 60,000 people nationally take the exam, and the number of people who score 75% or greater (passing grade) is between 20 percent and 30 percent so (McInnis’) score was pretty brilliant, I’d say,” UT McCombs School of Business Professor Ed Summers noted in a school news release.
The UT-Bisk relationship has proven to be a very successful one over the years.
Accounting Department Chair Stephen Limberg noted that the McCombs School of Business has produced six top-three national finishes since 1995. “Even before John took the exam, UT’s record of award winners was nothing short of phenomenal,” Limberg said in a school news release. “But John’s perfect performance has now set a new standard of excellence. It is a terrific personal accomplishment.”
