APACPA Acts as Liaison Between CPA Organizations and Candidates
TAMPA, FL (SEPTEMBER 2, 2008) – Bisk Education is proud to announce that Bisk CPA Review Product Manager Valerie Wendt has been re-elected Vice President of the American Professional Accounting Certification Providers Association (APACPA) at the 2008 annual meeting of the American Accounting Association in Anaheim, California.
“As this is an elected position from my peers, I am honored to be selected to fill this role,” said Wendt, who enters her third consecutive term as Vice President for APACPA.
“There is a slight gap between what is taught and what the real world is like, especially when it comes to preparing for the CPA exam,” she said. “The CPA exam has a time lag when it comes to testing new rules or standards.”
In her duties as Vice President, Wendt manages the organization’s website and presides over quarterly meetings in the president’s absence. APACPA is made up of CPA review providers who meet with industry organizations including AICPA, NASBA, and Prometric to gain insight into the CPA exam and upcoming changes to the exam. APACPA also provides those organizations with feedback and suggestions on the CPA exam as expressed by exam candidates.
